ORGANIC & sustainable

The garden office Ahlberg switched to organic farming in 1998 and since 2000 all products have been organic, ie naturally grown. Appropriate crop rotation ensures good growth condition of the fields, the cycle always includes nitrogen-bearing plants. Organic means that chemical fertilizers made with high energy consumption are not used. Nutrients utilized in greenhouses are mainly by-products of the domestic food industry. Plant protection in organic gardens is handled by biological methods, chemical pesticides are banned.

When cultivation techniques and know-how are in place, organic production achieves the same yield level as conventional farming, although some stages of organic production are more laborious, resulting in a slightly higher price for organic products. Organic is also a sustainable development. At all stages of production, the aim is to minimize the load on the environment.
